Global Warming

The increasing temperatures are resulting in global warming which has the effect of melting the icecaps which has the potential of increasing sea levels around world thus causing flooding in low lying areas.

If this happens then continents will lose their low lying coastal areas. There will need to be flood defences in many countries to protect large areas of land. Low lying islands may not be able to be saved and will just disappear under water.

If the ice caps are completely melted then we will potentially have a catastrophe on our hands!

Because of this global warming the different climates around the world are potentially going to change. The fear is that desert areas will increase in size and temperature changes will change the plants and trees that can survive under the new conditions of each area.

Climate change may make some heavily populated areas uninhabitable!

One action we should be taking now is to identify those land areas which may be lost to rising sea levels and rescue as much of the biodiversity that exists in these areas that we can!
